Comprehensive planning for all phases of a project: design, site preparation, implementation, establishment, and long-term management ensures the project is set up for smoother transitions, fewer surprises, and sustained success.  Our custom designs are crafted with implementation and budget in mind, generating the most value per dollar invested.  Our design experience ranges from creating pollinator habitat on 4,000+ acre utility-scale solar projects to designing high-intensity urban agro-forestry systems on 0.1-acre lots, and everything in between. Thoroughly controlling invasive plant populations (usually over the course of one to two growing seasons) prior to adding new plant material is critical for project success. This begins with comprehensive planning using integrated pest management principles, weaving invasive plant control activities in with the overall project's life cycle. Our genuine expertise in invasive plant management allows us to select optimal strategies, tactics, and techniques, facilitating effective management of especially complex and challenging infestations.

Thanks to over a decade of experience delivering turnkey ecological restoration projects, Optimus is able to effectively translate design plans into on-the-ground results. One to two years of regular site monitoring and adaptive maintenance (e.g. follow-up vegetation control, as-needed supplemental watering) are critical to ensuring projects do not back-slide and you see a return on your investment. Optimus' experience and ability to adaptively manage landscapes sets us apart from competitors whose workflows are often siloed.

No landscape is zero-maintenance, but once we've successfully guided a project through its establishment phase, your management costs will drop significantly. We do offer long term management services, but we're just as happy to empower you by developing a long term management plan with prescriptive guidance on how to effectively manage your natural space over time.
